The holidays are here, and you are probably decorating your home with lights, garland, and snowmen. No matter what your holiday tradition, there are many options for creatively decorating your manufactured home for the holiday season. Palm Harbor Homes is happy to share with our customers the top ideas for decorating your manufactured home for Christmas. Grab a hot cup of cocoa, turn on some Christmas music and let’s get started!
Light It Up!
You can never go wrong with more Christmas lights. Adding some decorative lights long your roof and around windows can turn your manufactured home into a gingerbread house. You can either choose a theme or just have an old-fashioned, friendly mish-mosh of everything. Lights inside your home around entrances and windows can further brighten your manufactured home and make it seem brighter, bigger, and more open.
Keep Your Tree Proportionate
One big mistake people often make when decorating for the holidays is they start to get a bit too jolly and end up choosing a tree that is much too big for their home. When looking at Christmas trees, keep the size proportionate to the living room. A tree that is too big will make your room seem smaller. While a big full tree is incredibly beautiful, a tree that matches your room size will look much better.
Smells Like Home
Part of making your home feel like Christmas is to think about all the senses, including smell. We associate Christmas with the smell of pine, cinnamon, spices, and cookies. Mulling spices in a slow cooker with a few inches of water can make your home smell like Christmas for hours! A few dashes of peppermint oil in a spray bottle of water can be sprayed on furniture to give a fresh, clean, Christmas scent! If you are feeling hungry, bake some gingerbread cookies and enjoy the amazing smell wafting from the oven.
