Community Involvement

Associates at our corporate office and in each of our factories and retail sales centers regularly support the efforts of local charities by collecting donations, participating in fundraisers and participating in the Company's Quality Improvement Process. Participation in Palm Harbor's Quality Improvement Process allows associates to earn money for the charity of their choice.

Educating our Youth

At the corporate office, the Recognition Committee sponsors Quality Kids. Associate's children who excel at school receive recognition in a company newsletter and gift cards to Barnes & Noble.

In early 2002, Lee Posey (Founder of Palm Harbor Homes) and his wife, Sally, created the Foundation for the Education of Young Women and began an effort to get a single-sex girls' school started in the Dallas Independent School District. By August, 2004, the Irma Rangel School opened its doors with the financial support of the foundation. The Foundation for the Education of Young Women provides financial support to each graduate from the school that is accepted to college.

Hurricane Response

After Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, thousands of people were in immediate need of assistance. Palm Harbor responded promptly. Our recruiters and area factories contacted employment services associated with the hurricane rescue operations to announce employment opportunities with Palm Harbor Homes. The team in Hickory, North Carolina, established itself as a collection point for the community to drop off items for victims of the hurricane. Customers and employees made generous donations and then shipped the items via overnight delivery to the Gulf Coast region.
