Meet Our People: Customer Service
Meet Tami Keim - Customer Service
Tami Keim Customer Advocate Tempe, AZ
- My Role:
- Customer Advocate; Tempe, AZ
- My Time:
- 9 1/2 years
- My Career:
- I started my career with Palm Harbor as a temporary receptionist for an independent dealer. Palm Harbor acquired the location as the 2 weeks were extended to 2 months. I was asked to stay on permanently to assist the current Office Manager (OM) with her duties. After about 6 months, I was asked to move to a different sales center and work as the OM there. I worked as the OM for 6 years when I was approached to start a pilot program as the Regional Customer Service Manager for the New Mexico and Western Division. CareTrac was in its infancy so there were some "bugs" to work through. The CareTrac we all know and love has evolved just as the position has evolved into the title of Customer Advocate. I’ve been at the Tempe warranty dept for a little over a year and a half.
- My Contribution:
- I proactively make calls to our customers at the time of their warranty close, home delivery, GKC completion, move-in, 30 days after move-in and 60 days after move-in. My job is to assure the lines of communication are always open between all entities and our customers receive the updates regarding their homes completion.
- My Advice:
- Palm Harbor is a service-oriented company. A candidate must be committed to providing legendary service and following the mission statement of total and complete customer satisfaction.
- My Hobbies:
- I really enjoy photography. My family is learning to accept my camera as a permanent extension of me. I’m famous for saying, "just pretend I’m not here."
- My Recommendation:
- You need to have patience, excellent listening skills, empathy and a good sense of humor to perform this job.
- My Travels:
- My father was in the military so we traveled quite a bit when I was a child. We lived in Germany for a few years and had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe. I also had the opportunity to live in Panama for 2 years.
