Our History
On December 31, 1977, Lee Posey, Chairman Emeritus of Palm Harbor Homes, and 4 associates purchased two environmentally-controlled building facilities to enact their idea to produce innovative, high-quality site delivered homes and satisfy their customers with high value for the dollar. They focused on building high-quality affordable homes, providing customization options and energy efficiency and inviting the public into their building centers to see how these homes were built.
Over the years, Palm Harbor has developed into a national, fully-integrated affordable home company. In August 1995, the company went public and continued building through expansion and acquisitions. Currently, Palm Harbor provides manufactured and modular homes, as well as a full complement of mortgage and insurance services, maintaining its emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction.
