Palm Harbor and Nationwide Homes Do Extreme Makeover Home Edition

Extreme Makeover Home Edition

Sundays 8/7c on ABC

This episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featuring the Williams family and their new home in Pine Mountain, Georgia, aired on Sunday, May 16, 2010, on ABC. We are excited to bring the first modular home to this show.

Because we have been building and selling custom dream homes to great families for decades, the opportunity to provide a dream home for a worthy family in need with Extreme Makeover Home Edition was a natural fit. As modular home builders, Palm Harbor and Nationwide Homes are uniquely qualified to deliver a high quality customized home in a fraction of the time required for traditional home construction methods. We are very proud to be the first modular home builder to work with ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

This beautiful home built in the Nationwide building center in Martinsville, Virginia, is the first modular home provided for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in its 7-year history. The home is made of 12 sections or modules trucked to the home site and crane-lifted into position. The home has 4,151 sf under roof, and 3,700 square feet of heated area. This home is Certified Gold under the National Green Building (NAHB) program and is ADA compliant to accommodate the father who suffers from ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease and the son who is a paraplegic from Spina Bifida.  A full solar energy array donated by Atlantic Service and Supply to help keep cost of living down after the move-in. The time required to set the home and weather it in was one full day.

Despite surgeries and setbacks over the years, the family is a hopeful, uplifting inspiration to everyone in their Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia, area.
